🔒 Your Privacy Matters
Meet Randomizer is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All processing happens locally on your device.
1. Information We Collect
We collect NO information. Meet Randomizer operates entirely on your local device and does not collect, store, or transmit any data to external servers or third parties.
1.1 Local Storage
The extension uses Chrome's local storage API to store the following data only on your device:
- History of randomizations: Meeting names, selected participants, timestamps, and team splits (stored locally only)
- Participation counts: Counts of how many times each participant has been selected (for balanced team distribution)
- User preferences: Your autopost settings and other preferences
This data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear this data at any time using the "Clear History" button in the extension.
1.2 Meeting Participant Data
When you use the extension, it reads participant names from the Google Meet interface. This data is:
- Processed entirely in your browser's memory
- Never stored permanently (except in your local history if you choose to save it)
- Never transmitted to any external server
- Only used for the randomization and team splitting features
2. How We Use Information
Since we don't collect any information, there's nothing to use. All functionality operates locally:
- Participant names are read from the page DOM and processed in memory
- Randomization and team splitting happen entirely in your browser
- Results are displayed in the extension popup and optionally posted to the meeting chat
- History is stored locally for your convenience only
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share NO data. Since we don't collect any data, there's nothing to share. The extension has no backend servers, no analytics, and no third-party integrations.
4. Data Security
All data associated with this extension is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage APIs. This means:
- Data never leaves your device
- Data is protected by your browser's security model
- Data is only accessible to the extension itself
- You have full control over the data and can delete it at any time
5. Permissions Explained
Meet Randomizer requires the following permissions to function:
- activeTab: Allows the extension to interact with the current Google Meet tab to extract participant names and post messages to chat
- scripting: Required to inject code that reads participant information from the Google Meet page
- clipboardWrite: Enables the "Copy to Clipboard" feature to copy selected participants or teams
- storage: Used to store your preferences and history locally on your device (never transmitted)
These permissions are only used for the stated functionality and nothing else.
6. Third-Party Services
Meet Randomizer does not use any third-party services, analytics tools, or external APIs. The extension operates entirely independently.
7. Children's Privacy
Since we don't collect any data, we don't collect data from children either. The extension is safe for use by anyone, including children, as no personal information is ever collected or transmitted.
8. Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- View your data: Use the History tab in the extension to view your randomization history
- Delete your data: Click "Clear History" in the extension to delete all stored history and participation data
- Export your data: Use the "Export History" feature to download your history as a CSV file
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the extension will remove all associated data from your browser
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Since we don't collect data, policy changes primarily reflect improvements in how we explain our privacy practices.
